Former Notre Dame WR reunites with four former Irishmen after being traded

Former Notre Dame wide receiver Ben Skowronek is on the move. On Thursday, the Houston Texans traded for Skowronek, who the Los Angeles Rams were set to release. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the transaction. 

The 6-foot-3, 224-pound Skowronek played three seasons with the Rams, the last of which he spent as a team captain. In 45 games, he caught 58 passes for 575 yards and 1 touchdown. Most of his production came in 2022, with 39 receptions for 376 yards. 

Skowronek played himself into a seventh-round draft choice in his one season with the Fighting Irish. He had 49 catches for 439 yards and 5 touchdowns at Notre Dame. The Rams selected Skowronek with the No. 249 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. 

Before moving to South Bend, the Fort Wayne (Ind.) Homestead product played four seasons at Northwestern. 

Skowronek will team up with former Irish offensive linemen Blake Fisher and Jarrett Patterson, defensive lineman Kurt Hinish and cornerback Troy Pride Jr.
