Traffic restrictions are set to come into effect at 10.45.

At 11am the horse-drawn carriage will travel from the South Lotts Road across McMahon Bridge and then down Pearse Street.

It will then turn onto Lombard Street East, Westland Row, Fenian Street and Denzille Lane.

The cortege will be led by a lone piper and the Artane Band.

Showbiz Editor with the Irish Sun Ken Sweeney, thinks there will be a big turnout.

He said: “I think a lot of Dubliners will want to come out and say a last goodbye to Shane. It’s going to be quite a sight, Shane’s coffin pulled by a horse and there’s going to be a lone piper and the Artane Band.”

“It’s going to be quite a sight to see, I think people will want to be here. They will want to come out and say goodbye to Shane, and it’s going to be a moment for parents and kids to celebrate his music before Shane takes the long journey down to Tipperary.”

The cortege will then make its way to Nenagh in Co-Tipperary, where his funeral will take place at 3.30pm.

President Michael D. Higgins is set to attend the funeral mass.
