Gutsy Stormers snatch Dublin draw

The DHL Stormers scored a late try to snatch a draw against a resurgent Leinster side in a top-of-the-table Vodacom United Rugby Championship clash in Dublin on Friday.

Having led by 17 points after a dominant start to the first half, the Stormers threatened to let it slip at a hostile RDS Arena as unbeaten Leinster scored four successive tries to take the lead.

However, Manie Libbok set up fullback Clayton Blommetjies for the decisive try that saw the defending champions come away with a credible draw and bring Leinster’s 15-game winning run to an end.

The result saw Leinster retain their lead in first place on the Vodacom URC log, while the Stormers edged ever closer to ensuring a home playoff by taking two log points back to Cape Town, ahead of a run of home fixtures.

The Stormers next have a Champions Cup last-16 match against Harlequins at Cape Town Stadium, before hosting Munster and Benetton in their final Vodacom URC fixtures.
