The laneway was repainted to coincide with the official opening of the adjacent Briery Gap Theatre and Library

Those who regularly wander through Duggan’s Lane in Macroom will now benefit from a more colourful journey as the walkway was given a facelift to coincide with the official opening of the adjacent Briery Gap Theatre and Library.

The lane was refreshed and painted in a “contemporary” bright blue shade by the Municipal District to compliment the redeveloped Briery Gap, which was reopened on Saturday, September 21.

Still adorned with its old-school ‘Player’s Navy Cut’ sign, the refreshed lane makes for an eye catching feature on Main Street and could well attract the attention of visitors to the town.
