New Delhi: Three fielders combined in an appreciable display of team work that proved decisive in Ireland’s one-run win over the Netherlands in a tri-nation T20I series match at the Hague on Sunday.

Ireland’s Harry Tector, Gareth Delany and George Dockrell combined as a tag team to save a boundary after Dutch opener Michael Levitt cut Mark Adair as they chased 151-run target.

It looked a certain boundary once the ball pierced the infield but the three Irish fielders had other ideas.

Hector lead the chase as he dived and prevented the ball from touching the boundary. Delany came in behind him and volleyed back the airborne ball that was caught by Dockrellto throw it back from the deep.

The relay effort saved a run and it later proved to be the difference between the two sides, as Ireland after posting 150/8 restricted the Netherlands to 149/8.

Adair was named the man of the match for scoring 49 runs off 24 balls and picking up 2/34.
