It was a night of celebration for the LGFA All-Ireland champions, Dublin as they were awarded their medals for 2023.
Last summer the girls took on the almighty Kingdom, Kerry in the final but they were no match for the girls in blue as they beat them 0-18 to 1-10.
At the Castleknock Hotel in Dublin, the ladies looked very different as they swapped their shorts, boots and jerseys for glitz and glam, as they stepped forward to accept the award, they had worked so hard for.
Leinster LGFA President Trina Murray presented the Dublin Senior Squad with their TG4 All Ireland and Leinster winners medals.
During the night Leah Caffrey and Captain Carla Rowe jumped in for a shot with the president, still smiling after receiving such a sought-after achievement.
Several team members were getting a medal for the first time including goalie Abby Shiels, Niamh Crowley, Hannah Tyrell and Orla Martin. However, for Sinead Aherne, this was a special night as she picked up her sixth award, winning in 2010, 2017-2020 and this year, 2023.
Even though StayCity may be the new sponsor of the Dublin team this year, last year sponsors were gifted a special present by the girls. A specially commissioned artwork piece by Dermot Milton was given to AIG to mark ten years of standing by the girls in blue.
Over this period the team won five Senior All-Ireland titles. Carla Rowe and Sinead Aherne presented the picture to AIG on behalf of Dublin LGFA.
