Man due in court following robbery of a shop in Dublin

A man is due in court tomorrow morning as part of an investigation into the robbery of a shop in Dublin last week.

The man, aged in his 40s, was arrested on Thursday and has since been charged.

He is due to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court, Criminal Courts of Justice No. 2, on Saturday morning.

A woman, also aged in her 40s, who was also arrested has since been released without charge.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A garda spokesperson said at approximately 7.45pm on Friday, November 24, two people entered the premises in Dun Laoghaire and “threatened staff with a knife”.

“A sum of cash was taken from the premises,” they added.

“Following enquiries by investigating gardaí, a search operation was conducted this afternoon, Thursday 30th November 2023 at a residence in County Wicklow.”
