Safety issues are a concern for almost 1 in 4 Dublin businesses

Nearly 60% were concerned about crime in the city centre.

Safety issues are a concern for almost a quarter of businesses here in Dublin. 

A Fáilte Ireland presentation that figure is higher than the rest of the country, which sits at 5%. 

The Irish Independent report that the presentation said most visitors to the capital were “more or less neutral” on safety. 

Despite that, 23% of business owners were concerned with anti-social behaviour. 

3 in 5 were worried about crime, while a lack of policing and security, and the general presentation of the city were also key issues for stakeholders. 

Anti-social behaviour, open drug use and dealing and violent attacks were among the key issues for those questioned. 

O’Connell Street, Dame Street and Temple Bar were some of the areas that people were most worried about.
