Rugby

Jack Crowley says competition for the Irish rugby 10 shirt will push him and Sam Prendergast to become better players.

Prendergast has been handed a second successive start at out-half for this afternoon’s Autumn International against Australia, with Crowley among the replacements.

The Munster out-half says it’s healthy to have a battle for the starting position for Ireland:

Cian Healy is in line to make history in the game, he’ll become Ireland’s most capped player on 134 if he’s brought off the bench.

There’s a ten-past-three kick-off at the Aviva Stadium.

GAA

All of the Football Review Committee’s rule changes for 2025 have been adopted at the GAA’s Special Congress.

President Jarlath Burns has described the strong backing from delegates for all 18 motions as a ‘resounding mandate for improvement in Gaelic Football’.

The new rule changes will apply to both club and inter-county games next year, with Central Council able to amend or rescind any of those changes during 2025.

Croke Park plays host to this evening’s Leinster Club Finals.

In the football decider, St Mary’s Ardee hope to become Louth’s first provincial champions when they take on Dublin’s Cuala.

Last year’s beaten finalists Na Fianna of Dublin face Offaly’s Kilcormac Killoughey in the hurling final.

The first of this year’s All-Ireland Club Ladies Football semi-finals is just getting underway.

After winning Munster for the first time since 1986, Kerry’s Castleisland Desmonds are in Stillorgan to play Leinster champions Kilmacud Crokes.

Soccer

Arsenal will hope to move up to second place in the Premier League with a win in this evening’s London derby at West Ham.

Before that, new Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy will be watching from the stands on their trip to Brentford.

Newcastle can close in on the top four with victory at Crystal Palace.

The other 3:00 kick-offs see Nottingham Forest take on Ipswich and Wolves host Bournemouth

Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic have the chance to go five points clear at the top this afternoon.

The champions host Ross County at Parkhead at 3pm.
