A BUSINESS student arrested over a suspected €120,000 cannabis seizure in Dublin has been held on €5,000 bail.

Michael Ezebube, 19, of Mount Eustace Rise, Tyrellstown, Dublin 15, was arrested following a Garda operation on Friday.

He was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, and possessing it with intent to supply at his home address on January 26 and held pending his appearance before Judge David McHugh at Dublin District Court on Saturday.

Judge McHugh set bail requiring approval of a €5,000 independent surety due to the value of the alleged seizure.

He remanded the teen in custody with consent to that bail to appear at Cloverhill District Court next week.

The court heard the accused in his second year of an international business studies college course must surrender his passport and after taking up bail must sign on daily at a Garda station, notify of any address change and remain contactable by phone.

The young man has yet to indicate a plea and did not address the court.

Evidence of arrest, charge and caution was given by Garda Emma Gilmore. Directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions must be obtained.
