Aldi Ireland’s Sallynoggin store has reopened after undergoing a €1 million renovation project as part of Aldi’s ‘Project Fresh.’
This is the latest in a series of upgrades by the retailer, which have included stores in Castleisland and Newlands Cross.
Layout
The updated Sallynoggin store features a new layout that includes a wide selection of fresh food at the front of the store.
It has also added hi-spec fixtures and fittings throughout, plus new product category signage to ensure an effortless shopping experience.
The customer-focused layout allows customers to shop for the products they know and love with greater ease while also browsing new ranges.
The newly refurbished store was renovated in line with Aldi’s award-winning ‘Project Fresh’ design, which was recognised at the Checkout National Grocery Retail Awards.
Aldi walked away with Discounter Store of the Year Award for its Adamstown store thanks in part to its innovative display of fruit and vegetable offerings.
Last year, the retailer invested €7.2 million in upgrading six of its stores throughout Ireland as it launched Project Fresh Enhanced.
As part of Project Fresh Enhanced, new features are introduced in-store such as a fresh herb stand, a dedicated bread and cake fixture and a health and beauty fixture.
Innovation
Aldi has also begun the installation of self-service checkouts in a number of stores, including the Sallynoggin store.
The trial of the new checkouts will begin this Friday, with Aldi committed to retaining this service for customers while launching new initiatives.
The retailer has invested heavily in improving its energy management systems and the entire store network is now powered by 100% wind generated energy.
It has achieved ISO 50001 accreditation in recognition of its efforts to improve energy efficiencies.
The Sallynoggin store will also receive a CO2 upgrade, meaning there will be more environmentally friendly refrigeration in-store.
Speaking at the reopening the manager of the Sallynoggin store Matthew Marciniszyn said, “The Project Fresh revamp of our store is fantastic news for our local customers.
“The new spacious design makes for a very enjoyable shop and customers can easily find everything they need with convenient store opening hours.
“We are also thrilled to take part in the trial of Aldi’s brand new self-checkouts.
“Our promise to our Dublin customers is that we will never be beaten on price, and we will always provide the best value.
“In this current environment, it is more important than ever that customers can always avail of great value products at unbeatable prices here in Aldi.”
Aldi has recently extended its opening hours across the network, opening at 8am Monday to Saturday and closing at 10pm on Saturdays only.
Sunday hours remain unchanged, open from 9am-9pm.
