The cast of Bridgerton will make their way to Ireland for two special screening events next week.

Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton, who play Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, are taking the Bridgerton World Tour to the Emerald Isle to launch the second half of the Netflix show’s third series.

Nicola is Ireland’s very own Diamond of the season as Penelope and Colin’s love story has been front and centre since the first four episodes hit the streaming platform on May 16.

Penelope has given up on her crush on Colin after hearing his harsh words last season and now seeks a husband who will let her maintain her double life as Lady Whistledown, but her lack of confidence leads to failed attempts in the marriage market.

When Colin returns with a new look and swagger, he finds Penelope distant. To win back her friendship, he offers to mentor her in confidence, but soon questions if his feelings are purely platonic.

Meanwhile, Penelope’s rift with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) and her growing social presence threatens to expose her secret identity.

The next batch of episodes will be available to watch on June 13 – but some Irish fans will be treated to a preview of the fifth episode (the eagerly awaited first episode from Part 2) before anyone else.

Netflix and Shondaland are hosting a special event next Thursday, 6 June, at the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield Square, which will see the stars of Bridgerton grace the red carpet for an exclusive screening of Episode 5.

And on Friday, 7 June, the Galway Fleadh will host a special screening at Pálás Cinema, where Galwegians will have the chance to celebrate Nicola Coughlan’s international success and welcome her back to her hometown.

Nicola and Luke’s presence in Dublin and Galway will be the talk of the ton this summer, so make sure to apply for free tickets at galwayfilmfleadh.com.
