400 new jobs have been announced for County Meath by the county’s biggest employer.

Primeline Distribution is opening a new €50 million hub, three times the size of the pitch at Croke Park in Ashbourne.

The 400 new jobs are across a range of areas and will bring Primeline’s total workforce to over 1,500, with 1,100 people already employed at the company.

Primeline Group’s fleet of vehicles makes over 25,000 deliveries to more than 7,500 outlets around Ireland each week.

Their sales colleagues call on more than 3,000 retail outlets monthly.

Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment Peter Burke, TD welcomed news of the development in the town: “The story of Primeline Group is one of ambition and entrepreneurship, and the group has built a truly impressive presence across Ireland and the UK. Bringing this new addition online will no doubt be a major asset to its growth in Ashbourne and the wider region.

“I’d like to congratulate the Primeline team on reaching this milestone and wish them the very best of luck for the next step on their journey ”.

CEO of Primeline Group Tim Cummins said: “I’m proud to lead a team with decades of collective experience which gives us invaluable insights into future demands and opportunities within our market.

“The development of this Hub along with our investment in new technologies, is a product of careful planning and strategy and is also a symbol of the vision we have for Primeline Group.

“I’m very much looking forward to working with our customers whose business will also benefit from engaging with our fantastic colleagues at our state-of-the-art facilities”.
